Hi,
We recently encountered issues with a client’s phone that required us to remotely access their PC in order to apply necessary changes.

To streamline this process, I’m considering whether we can implement a remote proxy link that would allow us to access the phone’s Web UI from anywhere.

This would enable us to perform tasks like remote backups of the phone configuration prior to firmware upgrades. In a recent case, we lost some DSS key settings because the new firmware didn’t carry over a specific configuration line. While we resolved it manually, it highlighted the need for a more efficient approach.

The broader idea here is to improve how administrators like us can manage phone configurations remotely, reducing the time spent coordinating with clients for remote sessions.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Hi , how about good old VPN to client's premise?

It is a hassle, that's why just suggesting.

This is the reason why DSS keys should be configured from the PBX, not the phones interface.

So you essentially want to bypass security by opening access to a phone from anywhere. Not very secure if we want to be honest.

Security is a hassle. But it is necessary.

I would have thought security matters to you.

Got it, my bad then. Please close or delete thread.
