To redirect the Windows UAC prompt, we deploy 3CX Webmeeting Remote Control as SYSTEM on our workstations. We install it in "C:\3CXWMRemoteControl\" and set the ACL to the same as in "C:\Program Files" so that nobody can delete the folder. With the ACL enabled, it is not possible to let the user write to "C:\3CXWMRemoteControl\Logs", which prevents the screen share from starting.

As a workaround we set another ACL to allow the group "Users" to write into "C:\3CXWMRemoteControl\Logs". But this works only for one user, because only the user who created the log file can write to it.

Would it be possible for your developers to change the log file path to "AppData\Roaming\3CX\3CXWMRemoteControl\Logs" instead of "InstallDir\Logs"?

In our case it would be:
FileLocation
3CXRemoteControl_20210716.logC:\Users\user.name\AppData\Roaming\3CX\3CXWMRemoteControl\Logs
3CXRemoteControlSvc_20210716.logC:\3CXWMRemoteControl\Logs

Thank you in advance!

Hi @HExSM

we should be able to do this, I don't see why not.
Allow us some time as we are currently busy with the final changes for v18 in the platform.

@StefanW ,

that sounds great! Then I look forward to hearing from you guys in the near future.

Hi there,

I've sent you a PM with the relevant information on the Remote Control app. Please try it out and let me know how it goes.

Thank you.
