Silent mode does not work properly on Android

Hi, Thank you for your support.
We've got some reports of Android users saying "Silent mode does not work on their devices".
A device is confirmed that 3CX is always ringing even the phone is set to manner mode(3CX is set to silent mode).
Another device does not ring when the phone is set to manner mode, but if the manner mode is off, 3CX rings even when it is set to silent mode.

Please kindly help us where should we check.

I am not the original poster, but we are having the same issue with two of our Android 3CX apps.

The specs for these phones/apps are as follows:

Phone Model 1: Fairphone 3
Android Version: 10
App Version: 18.0.7.42

Phone Model 2: Samsung S8 (SM-G950F)
Android Version: 9
App Version: 18.0.7.42

Both connect to:
3CX PBX Version: 16.0.8.16 (Debian)
Network Connection: WiFi and LTE / IPv4 and IPv6

Until 2021-12-28 we were still using a rather old PBX version 16.0.4.xx (*cough). According to one of the users, silent mode was still working before that date. Is there a change or an option that has made its way into PBX versions 16.0.5.xx and later?

What possible steps can we take to diagnose this?

We have helped ourselves with a custom ringtone with silence as a temporary workaround for now.

Hi All,

Just came to chip in and say that one of our staff here was having the same problem. Silent/vibrate was initially not working. So I tried changing the ringtone to custom/silence which wasn't working to start with, but now is!.

Android 3CX app V18.0.7.42
Galaxy A+ Dot - SM-A730F
3CX Server V18.0 Update 2 (Build 314) Linux
Android Version 9
