Hello,

For choosing the right version i would like to know the definition of 'Simultanious calls'

int->ext = 1 call
ext->int = 1 call

So far seems ok

int -> int ?
ext -> ext (follow me to a mobile phone for example)

Thanx for clearing this.

This has been answered so many times, the search button is your friend.

All of the examples you listed below all take up a license.

ext -> ext (follow me to a mobile phone for example) this is one trunk to one trunk, so as far as I'm aware, it is one call

Think of it as (for the most part).... one conversation = one call.

There was a question, a while ago as to whether a transfer, the 3 way call portion, counted as two calls. I don't recall seeing a definite answer on that. But, I would think it would be one, or users risked going over their licence limit if there were a lot of transfers going on. Someone else may be able to provide some clarification.

Aargh... check my spelling. I was searching simultanious instead of Simultaneous :)
That gave me indeed the correct answer.

Are there some calculationsheets / whitepapers to determine the right version?

Let say: 10 phones, 1 trunk with 4 channels, 1 fax
(not needing the answer, just a way to determince the best version)

Thanx

And how is a queue counted for if i have 10 callers waiting?
Those are not (yet) active calls.

If you had a system with four outside trunks, then your maximum number of external calls would be four. You would then have to consider any internal calls, but that depends on ow many extensions there were and how often they call each other. If there were just four extensions then the maximum could never go above four as they would all be on an outside line.

In the situation of a queue...if you had 10 calls waiting, then then you must have at least 10 trunks. You should have a licence to cover all of them being active, in addition to other incoming/outgoing calls.

I have 1 trunk with 4 numbers and 15 channels

So i _can_ have a queue of 10 callers. Who determines if the are actually active calls? The 15 channels is already coverd by my sip-provider.

I know this might be a tricky issue but to clarify all.

My understanding is that if a call has been answered (and I think that this would apply to those listening to music in a queue) then it is an active call.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I know that if a call comes into a ring group and is ringing 10 sets, it isn't counted until one of them answers.

If you have a 15 channel trunk group, then you should have a licence to cover all trunks being used (you'd pay for fewer channels if you didn't expect them to all be used at some point, right?), and any internal calls.
