I have a landline number running on a Dial 9 platform which is pointing to my 3CX PBX. I have added this as a SIP Trunk but only with details coming in as I want to forward the Trunk number straight onto a mobile number. Every time I set it up the system just tells me that the called number does not exist. When I set to it to another extension or just to end the call it does just that. Is there a specific way to setup the mobile number?

Thanks,

Hi @anyengineertech1

Do you have another trunk you are using to forward the number to? Do you have an outbound rule to accommodate the forwarding?
Are you forwarding the call to the trunk level or through an extensions forwarding rules?

I just have the one inbound trunk which has a forward in during office hours and outside of office hours to forward onto a mobile. I have put an outbound rule on but this still hasnt work, have tried it where it goes to an extension, 'end call' and busy which work but whenever I put to a mobile number it does not work.

You need to make your outbound rule based on the prefix of the mobile number only, as 3cx will use a system account for the redirect.

Make sure this is at the top

If this does not work, check the activity log.

You also need to check if you are sending the originators caller ID to the provider and if your provider supports this behavior.

I ended up creating a brand new extension which then links to the mobile number at the same time which has sorted it

Glad to see your issue has been resolved
