With v18 does 3CX sync MS 365 users more often than once a day? Also, if the primary email matches shouldn't it sync the existing 3CX user to the MS 365 profile?

I ask as we will set someone up on the local AD and Exchange and then manually make their extension in 3CX so we can assign it. Our local AD syncs to Azure every hour. It seems like 3CX is also syncing every hour now and will make a second extension that is paired to 365. We end up going and deleting the user created manually. All details seem to match. First name, last name and email.

Hi!

3CX will initiate a sync once a day, usually in the earlier hours of the morning. If though you have the HTTPS port open and M365 can 'talk' to your 3CX Server, then whenever a relevant change is made, M365 should contact 3CX to update on this specific change.
Disabling and enabling User Sync also usually forces a full sync, initiated by 3CX.

Also, if the primary email matches shouldn't it sync the existing 3CX user to the MS 365 profile?
Yes, the matching mechanism will try to match the existing email of 3CX Extensions with the M365 User UPN and Email address. If there is a match found, the extension will pull the M365 user information, regardless if the extension number of this existing extension is within the range you have defined for new M365 extension in the 3CX settings.
My colleague Constantinos also mentioned this here: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/v18-beta-1-gearing-up-for-release.82821/post-396361

When you end up with 'duplicate' extensions, does the email address of the one you created match that of the new one that was created automatically?

Thanks, we also had the local Exchange server listed in the contact settings still since the customer doesn't use exchange online yet. We have removed it to see if that helps.

Yes, the 365 ext and the one we made manually had the same email address.
