Hello,

I've seen a few threads on this, that lack any detail, and are now closed for futher comments. So in short, I have two clients on Telstra Business SIP that wish to move to 3CX. In both cases, the preference is to have the 3CX system in the cloud and preferably hosted by 3CX. Has anyone done this? Do you still need the OneAccess gateway when setting this up, or is it possible to do away with this useless peice of junk? If indeed an OnPrem server is necessary, is it possible to have the On Prem component as an SBC, or does it have to be the primary 3CX server?

Thanks,
Garrick

Hi Garrick,

Telstra is not supported for Hosted by 3CX precisely for this reason. You need their gateway for this work (this is what we tested and support) so we limit the support for on premise servers.
I would recommend using a Preferred or Supported provider if you are going with a cloud install.

Thanks Yiannis, unfortunately I don't have this option, both sites already have telstra business SIP in place, and I'm promoting 3cx to replace their old on prem pbx's. Another thread on this topic suggested the idea of a vpn to the cloud service. This obviously couldn't be done with hosted by 3cx, but could that potentially be an option if using say google cloud for hosting?

Yes of course. IF you use a VPN that would essentially mean you are local to the Telstra gateway

Yes, I realise that, but are you able to provide some detail on how this would be achieved on a virtual server??
