Hello, when I try to add my Twilio trunk I receive the error 'Only one trunk allowed for trial accounts'. I don't have any other trunks with this account though, only a webchat as default which I can't delete. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

This is an error coming from Twilio. Their trial account only allows for one trunk so you will need to upgrade your Twilio account if you already have a trunk set up there.

Okay thanks!

I’m experiencing the same issue. Following your recommendation, I checked with Twilio (where I’m certain I don’t have any other trunks), and they confirmed that the issue is on the 3CX side.

Do you have any other suggestions on how to check for existing trunks within 3CX and delete them if necessary?

Hi,

If you already created 1 trunk on twilio and use the "Twilio (Auto-setup)" from 3CX Add Trunk, that tries to create a new trunk on twilio which fails since you already have one up. If the trunk you already made is not used then delete it and let the Auto mode just do its thing, else use the plain "Twilio" option, no "Auto-setup" to add the existing one to 3CX.

Best,
K.

Ohhh, now I get it!
How can I access the manual (non-auto) setup for Twilio in 3CX?
Right now, I only see the auto-setup option — both when I select UK and when I choose Worldwide.

Hi,

Just noticed we are discussing SMB version which has Preferred Providers only - "custom" Twilio setup is ranked as Supported rather than prefered, so I guess your options are to delete existing twilio trunk, it should still keep your numbers, or upgrade with them.

Okay, I tried the second approach:
- I deleted the trunk
- Then went to 3CX to add it again
- After entering my SID and token, it prompted me to create a number in Twilio and redirected me to the Twilio page
- I created the number, went back to 3CX, and continued the setup
- But on the next step, it again says that a trunk already exists and I can't add more

Are a trunk and a phone number in Twilio the same thing?
Or is it possible that deleting the phone number wasn’t enough to remove the trunk in 3CX?

Hi,

Did it ask you for a Trunk name? If yes you need to put something unique/descriptive as Twilio creates a FQDN with that and if someone already has used that name it fails - so just calling the trunk "Twilio" will not work.
Twilio interface: Yellow is where Trunk name goes -

I fixed it! I realized that the phone number and trunk are separate entities in Twilio and not created together. I was able to delete the trunk successfully.

Thank you very much for your quick and helpful support!
