Unable to open media files from WhatsApp to 3CX

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone have experienced the issue with not being able to open/download media files (Document/Picture) in 3CX Desktop/Mobile app that was sent from WhatsApp?

We can open the media files if we are sending it from 3CX to WhatsApp but not the other way around.

We are able to fully integrate 3CX with WhatsApp Biz without any issue, able to send and receive messages normally.

Regarding your question, what documents/pictures are you sending, for example, saved photos from the mobile library? What do you see in the Webclient/Desktop app chat when these files arrive?

Hi Charles,

Yes, we are sending over document and photo from our mobile library. We tried sending PDF and JPEG file.

We are seeing the filename with a trash bin on the side in our Webclient/Desktop app chat, please refer to attached screenshots.




When we try to open the file by clicking on the filename, nothing happened. When we try to download the file by clicking on the Download button, nothing happened.
