Deadlines, steps, and key benefits for V20 migration and what to do if you remain on V18.

As discussed in our update from May, for those users not already on V20, the priority is upgrading to V20 to benefit from ongoing technical support, security updates, and the latest features. If you are unable to migrate immediately, upgra...

THANK YOU ;)

Thank you for clearly defining a timeline and leaving some headroom. I was going to rush our v20 upgrade this weekend but this will give me time to finish our desktop refresh (new softphone migration included) and kill off some old t42g's that are lingering.

What about systems that are running v18 on Windows? When we upgrade those to v20, will they need to be upgraded to Enterprise Editions at that time?

Thanks for defining a timeline and giving us plenty of time to migrate :)

Quick question, if I may. In the Migration Checklist it says this. Is it possible to do this in V18, as I cannot see a way of adding a Queue, IVR, or Ring Group to a Group?

Step 3 - Move Queues/IVR/RG to departments

  • Move your Queues, IVR & Ring Groups to the correct department
  • If you don’t want to use departments copy them to the DEFAULT department

Hi @rayfield,

Yes, Upgrading them to Enterprise at the time of upgrading to V20 is strongly recommended. We know moving forward, a Windows setup will require the Enterprise Edition so best to begin planning accordingly. Exact timing is not yet confirmed.

Hi @ITSupFRG,

V18 does not have the option to move existing Queues, IVRs, or Ring Groups to departments. This feature is only available starting with V20, where you can open the specific Queue, IVR, or Ring Group and assign it to a department.

I thought it was stated before that current Windows users on Pro had until they renewed before being forced to upgrade?

found the post, has this been walked back?

Hi @ MMDTerry,

This may or may not be the case, but what is certain is that, sooner or later, they will need to upgrade to the Enterprise Edition. The sooner they start planning, the better. No one is being forced to do anything; I’m simply sharing our recommended approach to ensure a smooth transition.

I think as you use v20 you will enjoy it more and more. This is a VERY appreciated extension during the holidays.

Thank you 3CX team.
