Hi,
I am trying to configure StartUP for use with my Vodafone fibre broadband connection. I have obtained my SIP login details from my ISP and attempted to set-up a new trunk in the 3CX console following the instructions here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/sip-trunk/vodafone-sip-strategic-uk/

However, the system will not accept the outbound proxy address in the format specified in the manual, ie: XXX.XX.srtp.entvoice.vodafone.co.uk
Nor will the system accept the proxy address I was given by Vodafone: XXX.XX.bbvoice.vodafone.co.uk
Both variants fail the validation routine with the error "Value must be a valid IP or host without protocol, port and sub path"

Does anyone have any advice for a newbie?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi @Copywriter_Ben

Make sure that you are using all lower case characters when adding the FQDN as the webclient will not allow you to user capital letters. It will be possible in the next version however.

Try it and let us know.

Thanks Yiannis,
The 3CX console now accepts the outbound proxy address when entered in lower case. However, I still cannot get the SIP trunk to connect. The set-up instructions suggest entering 'E164' into the 'Main trunk number' field, but this does not work (it reverts to +164).
Any ideas?

E164 means the number with the "+" so that's fine. The only issue I see is that you may be using a different product that the one we support. Your proxy (bbvoice) may suggest that it's a different product than the "entvoice" product we tested and support.
I would ask Vodafone regarding this.

Did you ever get this working? Trying to setup the same and failing

No, sorry. I spent a few hours on this with Vodafone who suggested that the supplied SIP trunk is incompatible - so I gave up.

I managed to get this working, I had to setup asterisk and then trunk asterisk into 3CX. Once I got my head around asterisk and the firewall rules needed on my router, it was really easy to setup on 3CX. Now I can make/receive calls on my VF FTTP SIP. It goes 3cx > asterisk > VF.

Would be interested to see your asterisk set up, and how you got it working.
