Many of our customers have very long voice mail greetings that provide instructions to callers. However, repeat callers want to skip the greeting to avoid having to listen to the entire announcement and instead move forward to recording their message. In an effort to find the "skip" code, I pressed every phone button 0-9*# while the greeting played, but in every case, my call was sent to the operator extension.

I appreciate the convenience of routing to the operator extension when buttons are pressed, but I want at least one button, for example 1, available to skip the voicemail greeting announcement (and the users can add the announcement press 1 to skip this message to their greeting).

3CX, what do you think of implementing this small tweak, preferably in v15 within the next month, please?

Bringing this back up to the top. We have a new client that really wants this feature. Does anyone have any work arounds?

Yes. Please make this happen.

Had a customer say "every other phone system can do this".

Make it happen please!

I'd like to see every voicemail box basically be an IVR that the user can setup.

  1. Skip my message and leave your message
  2. Have me paged (the system parks the call. Uses a predefined Ring Group for paging, etc) - and if person does not pick up - something smart happens.
  3. Forward to my cellphone
  4. Join my conference call
  5. any number of things may be possible.

I'd like to have something real voicemail do :
  1. option to only listen your message without a way for callers to let a message.
  2. Let us a way to disable all options to go back to operator, most of small business have no operator, we have complaints this feature is just adding some more confusion mostly with old people.
  3. voicemail goes directly to recorded messages without each time the need to press *, increase speed of menus, give a pdf to have dial code to use is enough when you know your system.

I mean, that's a great way to accomplish this, although convoluted.
Set the forwarding if no answer to an IVR
Define the IVR
send to voicemail of extension as part of the IVR

+1 Customer just requested.
