I am trying to create the AI Agent Prompt code so it can answer the phone and take appointments and send to my calendar.

I used Gemini to ask how to do this and it gave me the code for AI & Zapier to connect them. But it seems when asking AI Agent scedule, it take my date & time, but says having technical issues accessing the calendar.

Anyone else do this successfully yet?

I have the 8 Simultaneous calls plan on 3CX and paid tier on Zapier.

Regarding your question, Version 20 Update 10 is planned to introduce an MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector for 3CX, allowing external AI systems to connect to the PBX and perform supported actions.

At the moment, we do not have much additional information regarding its capabilities or exactly which actions will be supported.

Based on the information currently available, the initial release is expected to provide an MCP server, allowing AI clients to connect to and interact with the 3CX system. A future enhancement is expected to introduce an MCP client, enabling 3CX to consume and interact with external MCP servers.

As more information becomes available closer to the release of Update 10, further documentation will be published outlining the supported functionality and configuration.

I don't have the option for Data Connectors in my 8 SC plan. Is that going to be an issue for me? I have several clients that would probably hope on board with this. But I will need to have it available to me in order to resell this.

As a 3CX partner, you have NFR keys for your own system, and you can use another for your demo system to test this, but we have not yet defined which subscription level this will be available on.

Data Connectors is different from the MCP server that will be included, which is related to AI features. I am expecting that an AI license will be required, just like it is for the other AI features.

What you need is 3CX having MCP client support, so it can connect to external tools, for example the calendar to book your appointment.

Meanwhile your only option using 3CX is connecting a third party AI voice agent as a SIP extension, and route inbound calls to it. However, having this feature so close, I think it's worth the wait.

Hello,

Another possible solution is to use the AI Agent's notification email ability, and a "middleware" AI that can read this email and generate the calendar entry for you.

This could be an option, however the AI Agent will not be able to find available spots in the calendar, which is probably something required. For a full integration, MCP is needed. Good that it's coming.

Emailing is a start. and how to I get it to chat message.
If I can have the customer ask the AI Agent a question that it can't answer, can I have it chat within the 3CX system to let me know. (Voicemails tend to get buried when I'm busy)

Hello,

The AI agent can transfers chats, same as calls.

The default AI prompt is sometimes telling my customers, thank you for calling... I see your calling from plus 1 234567890, how can I help you today.
How do I get it to stop reading the phone number they are calling from? That makes it sound more like a robot.

Hello @TownTech

If you would prefer that the AI Receptionist does not mention the caller's phone number unless requested, you can customize the prompt by adding an instruction such as:

Do not mention or read back the caller's phone number unless the caller explicitly asks you to verify it.

You may also find our Prompt Engineering with 3CX blog posts helpful, as they provide recommendations on how to customize the AI Receptionist's default prompt:

We have another way coming up - ULTRA easy..
No need for Zapier either.
We are releasing update 10 Alpha Soon. So lets discuss this next week.
