We are getting ready to deploy a 3CX solution for the first time in a hotel. I have a few questions that I hope some of you could assist with>

  1. They are wanting to reuse the infrastructure so we would need some "in room" analog phones. Can someone recommend a supported phone/vendor?
  2. From what I gathered we are going to need a FXS gateway. Is this correct? if so, what manufacture would you recommend?
  3. What phone would you recommend for the front desk to do their hotel duties?

Im sure ill have more questions at the project continues, Ill reach back out on here when the time comes.

If you want to use analogue phones i the rooms, there are a number that are made specifically for hotel applications, with message waiting lamps, and a place for dialing instructions. Note, that there are two types of message waiting, the older being a neon bulb. If you go that route, the gateway will have to support it.

A lot will depend on where you are located.

There are also a number of 3CX supported ATA gateways with 24, or more lines.

Stick with a 3CX supported model.

As far as the reception phone...probably a SIP set, but which one, is going to depend on exactly how your hotel plans to use it. I'm sure others can suggest models that they have deployed, and pros and cons, but, again, stick with a supported phone.

Thanks for your feedback!

I think we landed on Telematrix phones, I read on another post that a user had great success with them. I just really need advice on ATA gateway, and a "front desk" phone

Sorry for the vague questions, the property owners really haven't given me much to work with other than, "Give me phones" and "Give me phones that will work"

I don't like customers like this one seems to be, not having 5 minutes to explain what they expect exactly and are ready to be on your back in case you do a step aside, if you miss something , that's your fault ,you should have used a crystal ball to scan their mind without their need to explain.

Hope for you i'm wrong on customer profile.

For ATA gateways, Grandstream is the brand I use for that kind of job

Grandstream GWX4224/48 gateways is what we use in Hotels. MWI lights can be tricky though depending on the phone in the guest room.

A yealink T46/T48 works well for reception, sometimes need to add some EXP's to it if they have a massive number of BLFs.
