Hello,

I have a debian based installation with one network interface.
On 192.168.1.254 is the internet gateway and on 192.168.1.253 is a second gateway that I must pass through there my sip trunk.
In Asterisk I could solve this issue by adding a static route on my machine telling it that everything that is related to my providers sip server ip send it through this specific ip address (192.168.1.253).
Can I achieve the same functionality on 3CX by adding a static route through the debian console?

yes you can.

Actually you were doing nothing in Asterisk. You were doing the rule on the underlying linux operating system on which asterisk was installed.

You can do the same and tell Debian - everything that comes from PROVIDER, pass it through 192.168.1.253 as that is the gateway for this provider.

Your provider gives you a box?
Or is it a coincidence that the providers Network is 192.168.1.X and your network is also 192.168.1.X? Be careful not to get confused (or confuse the OS). Normally the provider would be on 10 network and then you use the same approach and you tell the OS - Forward all 10 traffic to This gateway (the ip of the box that the provider gives you)

It was an example my local ip is different and I don't know what ip address the voip gateway will have. Ok so making a static route is ok with 3CX, adding a second ip address on the same interface to cover the case that you mention (internet gateway at 192.168.1.x and voip gateway at 10.x.x.x) is it ok also? On centos I do it with a second ifcfg-eth0 file e.g. ifcfg-eth0.1. Of course this can be done on debian also but would 3CX work properly?

Yes - I mean it has to be done this way because there are little other options.
3CX will work properly if you configure the network side of things correctly. Point is this - do not let the OS wonder where to send traffic. Tell the OS where to send that traffic if you do not want it to be sent to the default gateway.
If you do that part properly, then you will have no problems.

Ok thank you for your answers.
