Hello,
We are deploying Windows App for all users, who are using web client.
We configured SSO with Microsoft authentication - it works fine.

When deploying Windows App, we need this famous configuration file, downloaded with "Provisionning" button.
Is it possible to have direct link for this? If yes, I just need to send this link to users. With SSO, the configuration should be easier!
Thanks!

Hi @jlch,

The provisioning file is attached to the Welcome Email. There is no way to download a list of provisioning file links currently.

Thank you Vasilis for your reply.
I don't need links list.
I would have a "standard" or "generic" link. I don't find it behind the button.
Each user who follows link should authenticate himself, and download his own file.

If we do this, user don't need to open webclient, clic application, etc. But you're right, the file is sent by email.
I would "one shot" migration.

Hi @jlch,

Each user who follows link should authenticate himself, and download his own file.
After creating the extension with their associated email address, they will be send the Welcome Email which will allow them to do just that. You can edit the email sent to include a link to download the Windows Client by navigating to your Management Console >> Settings >> Email >> Email Templates >> Extension Welcome. I would suggest making a copy of the Template before editing it.

This way, the users don't need to open the Web Client at all. You can provide a download link to the Windows Client plus the attached provisioning file (automatically sent).

Okay, I see.
All of our users are in RDS infrastructure. 3CX Application will be automatically deployed.
For computer users, I deploy throughWindows group policies.
What I need is not the link ot 3CX App, but to conf file...
Tomorrow, I would all users connected with Windows application, without calls. It's my goal.

Hi @jlch,

Before I continue, can we just clarify that you are talking about the 3CX Windows Client and not the new 3CX Desktop App?

@VasilisV_3CX : sorry, I talk about 3CX Desktop App.
@LukeW : you're right but, like you, I don't see this end of the story...
@NickD_3CX : On the gif file, the perameter file seems to be unique per command. It's not exactly what I need.
to my mind, the link that you can find on the web application is the same for each user, but the donloaded file depends on the connected user.

That's why, combinated with SSO, the 3CX desktop App config should be transparent, even for new user arrival.

So we are on point.

I understand what you want, but that is not possible. Each user gets their own unique link. You have to work with what you have, which as outlined in this post is:
  • The Welcome Email
  • The QR Code
  • The Webclient credentials in the Welcome Email

Idea:
Modify the welcome email template as mentioned above and include YOUR instructions on how users should activate their client. Make the steps much fewer, e.g.:
1. Log into you r WebClient: <put URL here>
2. As username put %%EXTNUMBER%% and as password %%SERVICES_ACCESS_PASSWORD%%
3. Click on the Windows icon <place screenshot below with highlight>
4. Click in the "Provision" button <put another screenshot of button>

Ok, thank you for your suggestion.
Yes, we are going to send procedure to users. The SSO works fine, so we don't need the point 2/.
Thanks!
