Hi,

I get an error when configuring the Outlook Plug-in. I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 connected to an Exchange Server running in non-Cached mode.

In the 3CX Assistant I select CRM->Plug-in Configuration. Under Plug-in Configuration I select Microsoft Outlook. When I tick Enable Microsoft Outlook Plug-in I get the error:

----------
An error occurred trying to obtain Microsoft Outlook contact's folder list.

Cannot create channel sink to connect to URL '/OutlookServiceProvider'. An appropriate channel has probably not been registered.
---------

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards Lex

What version Assistant are you running?

the version is 7.1.3438.0

Thanks Lex

Try upgrading to the version 8 beta assistant.

Hi Lex,

Have you solve your problem?

I have the same problem with 3CX assistant 7.

I decided to install the 3CX assitant beta 8 but it doesn't solve this plug in errors.

Besides, the 3CX assitant 8 can't to connect to the 3CX server 7.

Thanks

Hi,

I had the same error after installation from the V7 Assistant.
You need local admin rights for the first start... then it works fine.

Hello

I have the same problem with 3CX Asisstant.

I install 3CX Assistant and also run it first time as local administrator, but get the same error (event at first run, when I'm administrator).

Does anyone maybe have any suggestion, what the problem could be?

Thanx, Gasper

We made some big fixes regarding this issue of the Assistant Outlook Plug-In.

You will unfortunately need to install the New Version 8 PBX in order to get the New Assistant Running and that assistant has an assistant that will almost 100% most surely not have this problem.
We've fixed a lot of issues with the Plug-In Connectivity issues.

Anyway if you cant install the new PBX can you at least tell me what Version of Windows you are running and whether it is 64 or 32 Bit.

I can't upgrade PBX right now (planned for the end of the year).
I'm running Assistant 7.1.3438.0 on Windows XP SP3 (32-bit).

Administrator role doesn't have exchange inbox. Can this be the problem, or is it only important to run Assistant as administrator the first time?

Regards, Gasper

Try running this on the Machine with the Assistant Installed:

For 32Bit Machines:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\InstallUtil.exe /targetdir="C:\Program Files\3CX Assistant\CRM" /allusers=1 "C:\Program Files\3CX Assistant\CRM\3CX Assistant CRM Integration.exe"

For 64Bit Machines:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\InstallUtil.exe /targetdir="C:\Program Files (x86)\3CX Assistant\CRM" /allusers=1 "C:\Program Files (x86)\3CX Assistant\CRM\3CX Assistant CRM Integration.exe"

Let me know if it works then.

I gave local user administrator permissions and then reinstalled Assistant.
Now it works fine.

I'll try your method with next user, that will want Assistant installed and let you know how it goes...

Thank you for your time.

Regards, Gasper

Glad to hear it works for you.

Does this works in any case in 7.1 for you? Giving the user Administration rights works for you?
What about the script i gave you, did it do anything?
