Solved 3CX Bin Log Viewer - Could not load file or assembly 'TcxBinLogRd.dll'

While investigating random call drops and wanted to have a better oversight of the logs, i found the following article: https://www.3cx.com/docs/3cx-log-viewer/

Downloaded the 3CX Bin Log Viewer (v15.5.0.4) and installed it on Win16 Pro 64bit
Generated the complete support info ZIP package on our 3CX v15.5.13103.5 (Linux) and unzip

When i open the .bldef file, the following message is displayed:

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Tried to copy the DLL (which is there of course) to C:\Windows but no luck also.

There was already a thread for this:

But cannot respond to it.

Does anyone know how to resolve that rather simple issue?

Try to unzip the contents of the Bin log viewer into a folder then copy the .bldef and .blrec files into the same folder. Run the 3cxBinLogViewer.exe and open the .bldef file.
if that fails try on a different PC and see if that works for you.

thank you very much for the quick answer. I unzipped the log viewer into a folder. I also tested it on a Windows Server 2012 R2. Same error message.

Can you please try it on a PC of yours?

I did before i wrote the reply although i am using the same version just to be sure and it works for me. I tried it on an Win10 machine and on Windows server 2016.

Make sure that you have 3 files in the folder before adding the .bldef and .blrec files. Also try moving the files into C:\. Create a folder and add the contents of the .zip there and try running the .exe as administrator

Thanks to the german forum and community member, we were able to resolve the problem. One needs to install Visual C++ from Microsoft. This dependency is not documented by 3CX and the support staff does not know about it
