Hi

Does anyone know how a web page needs to be coded in order for the Click To Call to work ?

A customer has a CRM package that does not work with Click To Call and wants to tell the developers exactly what is required to make it work ?

Thanks

Hi @robert.taylor

Is there any webpage publically available that has the issue so that we can check for you?

Hi @VasilisV_3CX .. i will check with the customer and let you know .. thank you

Sure thing @robert.taylor, you can PM me the link if you'd like to keep it off of the forum.

@robert.taylor We use MS Dynamics CRM and what I found with that product is by default its setup to use consumer skype for calls. So if you clicked on links it would actually bring up skype. I found there was a setting to change it to skype for business which changed all the dynamics numbers to be the tel: protocol. Which then made it work with the 3cx web extension. This URL talks about the tel: protocol for the 3cx windows client.

We actually use the tel: encoded links on our contact page found here

But what I found with the 3CX web extension is it works really well with just plain text too. We're creating a SaaS product and all phone numbers are listed as just plain text in it. The phone is in a format like xxx-xxx-xxxx and it picks them up and underlines them in black text vs an actual link blue like the tel: protocol will. You can click on them and it works great.
