Is there a cordless IP phone I can use on 3CX non-WiFi?

Yes, there are multiple DECT based phones that are cordless, and do not rely on WiFi.

Yealink W70, Snom M400, Gigaset N610 are some notable entry level ones.

Yes, there are DECT systems, ok, I would like to install a simple cordless with an IP base, so the base connects via Ethernet and the phone is a normal cordless, see the Gigaset AS400 example.

Thats an entirely different case then, you don't want IP based DECT, you want to use an analog DECT like the AS400.

You need an ATA like Grandstream HT801 for example that outputs an analog line (converts SIP to analog). Then you can connect the model you mentioned.

But that's a bit pointless, you go from analog, to digital this way and you are adding an extra step for no apparent reason.

Why not skip a step and go straight to digital using one of the models I suggested? Just my suggestion.

Sorry I got the model wrong this is a cordless IP there is no need to install a DECT system where there are minimal needs

Hi Alle,

I'm fairly certain you got a few things mixed up here so lets clarify


DECT = the wireless protocol that connects the handset with the base. All models mentioned, even both the Gigaset ones you mentioned earlier actually use DECT for the cordless signal.

IP base = the base of the station that supports SIP telephony and also contains the DECT radio.

We currently only support the ones that I mentioned, so if you want a low cost one (single base + single handset) your best bet is the W70. Its very easy to use and maintain, and you can add more handsets in the future if you want to. Yealink says that you can pair any of these models of handset to it W73H / W78H / W53H / W56H

You can buy the base+handset for around 100 EUR and its fully supported on 3CX.

I am very clear about what I am talking about, the phone I sent AS690 IP has a base that connects with a network cable and a single cordless associated with it. Obviously the range of action is limited to the range of action of the base. Cordless solution as I wrote at the beginning. There is no Wifi, DECT system etc... Simple Telephone Base. Doesn't 3CX have a solution like this? Do I have to use a DECT system, or an analog converter, or a Wifi phone?

AS690 has a BaseIP that connects with a network cable, it assigns an IP address to it and only one cordless is associated with it.

3CX ONLY does software. We do not do any hardware whatsoever. So we rely on 3rd party vendors for hardware.

And technically, any SIP compliant device can connect to 3CX. So we do the communication via the SIP protocol to the base station. From that point we are agnostic to the protocol used. WiFi, DECT, Carrier pigeon, smoke signals. As long as we can get the SIP signal back... we good.

But we will only recommend supported models, as my colelague did further up, for a more streamlined experience.

AS690 IP is an DECT phone system. What they are trying to tell you is to use an supported one.

The DECT units suggested on the 3CX website are exactly what you are after, base unit connects via ethernet and the handset communicates via DECT (cordlessly) Weve always used Yealink but just a personal preference for DECT. All very simple to setup

A simple AS690 IP costs 40 Euros and works well, the other solutions cost more, but if I only have to put a cordless I don't need a system that supports 10 cordless phones I have one, the use of an fxs adds a cost. We were looking for a simple, economical and functional solution for 1 cordless.

The answer to this question is very simple without going to explain concepts already known to me DECT Base etc... SIP .... There is no simple and economical solution for the implementation of a single cordless. I know very well that there are certified DECT systems and FXS Gateways, Obviously these devices have a different cost to that of the example AS690 which has a low cost. It is not necessary to go into detail using concepts known to all.

Hello everyone, in the end I opted for the solution you suggested Yealink W70B, and I must say that I am super satisfied, indeed I regret having perhaps had some Italian prejudices in judging the solution before having tested it. I installed a single cell that does not even require a wall installation as it is equipped with a table base or wall kit. It works perfectly in POE, but is supplied with its own power supply. The installation is very simple, the audio quality is excellent, but not only is the field of action very wide, truly satisfying, the price is a little more than that of a traditional cordless. Furthermore, it is a system that can be expanded. I have already ordered others to implement them in my installations. The address book is read perfectly.
