3CX Failover question

Hi,
I'd like to know as I have no experience on it, what 3CX failover do with authenticated Trunk SIP. SIP provider is OpenIP 3CX supported, their support said to me it's impossible to register twice same trunk, so my question is:

• How this it's supposed to be handled ? if the SIP trunk is down, is it a condition to activate 3CX failover or it's out of failover scope process ?
• What happens with failover pbx settings overwritten from main pbx each 24h and so giving trunk informations to be duplicated on slave pbx. How is this handled on slave pbx?
• Is there something preventing 3CX slave pbx to send register request to SIP provider while pbx is inactive ?

No, the failover is not triggered by a provider being down.

I assume you mean the restore backup feature. In that case you need to enable the option "Do not start services after restore" in your passive server. So all the details from the main server will be restored along with any SIP trunk changes but your passive server will remain passive and will not impact the main server.

When the 3CX server is on standby mode so not active, the SIP server service is disabled so no registration is going out from that PBX to the provider. the trunk will register only when that server becomes the active one.

Thanks a lot @YiannisH_3CX , now something more , if I want to set up another trunk for backup I can set it up on main pbx and so it ll be replicated on failover pbx and then in case main trunk is down , backup trunk can be up instead, am I right ?

You are right. If you set up a trunk on the main PBX, on the next restore the trunk will also be configured in the passive PBX.
