Hi

We have setup 3Cx free with an extension that specifically takes voicemail messages for missed calls.

A user on another extension would like to access the voicemails but dialling 99999 # doesn't work.

Is accessing voicemails on another users extension a limitation of 3Cx Free?

Or is there a specific way to access?

Thanks

Mark

Yes it’s a limitation.

No, its not a limitation, it is a RESTRICTION.

The voicemail system has global access to ALL extensions on the system, so that could potentially open up access to other tenants.

so it is restricted from accessing other extensions' voicemails. If someone adamantly needs this, then they should go to a paid for, dedicated subscription, where you have complete control of the entire system.

I just meant, not available. For all those reasons.

Hi, it seems like your only workaround might be? (a) setup a mailbox at your preferred/email provider. Possibly a shared-mailbox (MS365 no license cost for example - then designate one or more delegates who may access this mailbox, etc).
Then configure the "VMBOX" 3cx extension to deliver to this [email protected]
then you ensure that VM are delivered to that email account
then ensure team have a standard work flow in terms of who checks that mailbox, how often, who is allowed to delete messages, vs move them into the "CLOSED" vs "OPEN" vs "PENDING" if you need to have some way to track if a VM was read/dealtt with or not.

Or of course pay for a non-free 3cx license and you can manage this in the 3cx PBX system.
