Good afternoon,

Please can someone assist me with this one?

  • 3CX Version, 16.0.8.9
  • Server OS, Debian 9 VM - Dedicated Server
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? Local
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware - Fanvil Various
  • Provisioning Method: Auto Provision via DHCP 66
  • Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model : Gamma UK
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: YES
I have used the template provided when setting up the SIP trunks in 3CX. I can make inbound calls to Main Trunk number and DDis but I cannot make outbound calls from a extension. I have setup the outbound rules even tired adding.

Length and Prefix but no avail. I keep getting the following error.

07/29/2021 3:13:37 PM - Call to T:Line:10000>>EXTERNALTELEPHONENUMBER@[Dev:sip:10000@GAMMAIPADDRESS:5060] from L:22.1[Extn:130] failed, cause: Cause: 408 Request Timeout/INVITE from local

I have removed my telephone number and SIP IP for public protection.. They're filled in with EXTERNALTELEPHONENUMBER & GAMMA IPADDRESS

Any help would be apprenticed..

We have two SIP trunks from GAMMA one is a failover I am guessing? How would I also configure this?

Kind regards,
Aaron...

Based on the error message you receive, the call seems to be sent outward so your Outbound rules should be fine.

• First thing I'd recommend doing is making sure you can pass the firewall test under "Dashboard >> Firewall". The required ports are most probably open since you can receive inbound calls but please do run it once and confirm.

• If the firewall check the "registrar" set on the SIP Trunk level and make absolutely sure the IP/Hostname and port are correct as provided by Gamma. The fact that you see a 408 Timeout most probably means you are not receiving any reply so this might be because the SIP INVITE is being sent to the wrong destination.

Do bear in mind that we only support the specific provider when a single account is in use. But you might want to check this thread where something similar was discussed: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/gamma-enhanced-configuration-2-trunk-mode.67503/
However, before making any configuration changes I recommend we focus on the issue you're currently facing and get that out of the way first.
