Before leaving 3CX Hosting, I made a backup to restore on Lightsail using PBXExpress. The PBXExpress to Lightsail installed what appeared to be a fresh install with the 3CX licensing/account info populated when it was finished. In other words, none of the extensions or passwords, etc. were restored. NOTE: PBXExpress never asked for a link to the backup file or have an option to import it.

Is there an easy way that I can remove the Lightsail installation, save the existing FQDN configuration and start over restoring the original 3CX-PBX to Lightsail using the .zip backup file?

Thank you.

Can't you just restore your backup over the newly created fresh install?

That's what I thought, but I looked and could not find any How-To instructions.

Also, I suspect the SMTP server was not working and subsequently did not receive any emailed passwords and cannot log into the site.

@mobileusa when you make an installation via your customer portal to a Self Host, yes there is no option to restore a backup during process, this is only available to 3cx Hosting option.
PBX which is created is blank and then you can upload your backup to an FTP, sFTP or Google bucket and restore your config on top. Also you may SSH to your machine or even better go via WinSCP or FileZilla, FTP to your OS and upload your backup, then restore it on top of your existing installation.

About the password, when installation finishes, password is there.

As for your question to delete and go again in order to have the option to restore your backup during installation wizard, you can choose Marketplace in AWS : https://www.3cx.com/docs/pbx-amazon-aws-marketplace/

Hey, thanks!

Good news. I have been going down your list and was able to get the password changed and am logged into the 3CX Management Console now.

For some reason using the same credentials, I am having little trouble logging in via the Public IP with WinSCP, but I will figure it out.

Again, thanks for your advice; now, I can go in and 'unban' my own IP.

@mobileusa credentials of the MC do not work for ssh. You much have SSH keys..
Did you generate any for your Instance ?
