3cx Intergration with Teams

Integration with Microsoft Teams is only available as a direct route. Isn't it possible to integrate the 3cx world with Teams in the sense that Teams users can chat and call from the 3cx client?

No, not at all. Only for Direct Routing.

If you want to use Teams for calls and chats, why would use 3CX in the mix? That makes no sense.

Because this way anyone who has a 3cx control panel can contact Teams users around the world. I intended to connect 3cx with the MS Teams world.

That's not how the integration works. The integration allows to use the 3CX as SIP trunk for Teams, and allow communication between Teams users and 3CX users as well. But nothing else.

But its an interesting point, we are looking at client level integration so you can easily call via 3CX from the teams client. It will integrate directly with 3CX, not via the teams server..... This is something we want to check out

I work for a company with 30+ locations, about 2000 employee and I am on the corporate IT team responsible for infrastucture and systems. My company is currently in the process of selecting a PBX/provider for voice communications with SMS support for our international employees. I have been trying to have 3CX become our new system as we are utlilizing it in 2 of the locations currently and it works great for all our calling needs. The current front runner is ringcentral due to its MS Teams integration, the addon app that does not require E5 or business voice license but allows all call and sms functionality contained from a 3rd party inside of teams. Does 3CX have any plans to create a teams app add on that would eliminate the need for the PWA or desktop app like ringcentral?
