3CX ISDN VoIP gateway - advice

Hello 3CX Team,

I am looking forward to deploy a new instance and I came across the situation where I need to choose the right ISDN VoIP gateway.

The Customer has ISDN30(10 channels - United Kingdom). I was looking at Patton and Grandstream gateways and following models have drawn my attention:

1. Patton sn4170

2. Grandstream GXW4501

I was told by my supplier that Patton will do the work, although I found the Grandstream is much more cheaper option hence I would like to ask for your advice, will this Grandstream model work as well with the ISDN30 line ?

Both will work is the short answer. However we choose Patton as our brand of choice simply because they offer flexibility as far as the configuration is concerned and (at least in my opinion if you buy cheap you get cheap) we have not had a single Patton fail and I have worked with this brand for about 11 years.

I installed around 6 Pattons last year (we mostly deploy them globally in countries where ISDN is still widely used) and they were quick and easy to install and offer great support. Not only this but the debugging capabilities are second to none.

Great! if you get any issues let me know.

Also when ordering (and I am sure distribution can assist you with this) ensure you get the right amount for the channels you posted above (saves buying extra that you don't need). Model should be:

SN4171/1E15V30HP/EUI - SmartNode VoIP GW, 1 E1/T1 PRI, 15 VoIP Calls upgrade-able to 30.

These are upgrade-able with a licence anyway if after time you find more a required.
