Solved 3CX Notification: 3CX Debian OS Update Failed

I have one of the systems we managed failing to upgrade, I have attached the log files, any clues to how to resolve this issue would be very much appreciated

Hi there,

Please remove the appstream package, reboot and then try again.

It should work, but if it doesn’t, take a full backup of 3CX, setup a new Debian 10 machine, shut down the old instance and restore the backup on the new one. (This is the recommended way, to start fresh and avoid any short/long term issues)

Thanks for the quick reply, are you able to confirm the command to remove the appstream package. I ran a quick search of the forum and found several different commands so I am not sure which one to use with the standard 3cx Debian 9 iso.

That would be

sudo apt-get --purge remove appstream -y
