3CX on Synology NAS Virtual Machine will not boot anymore

Hello,

My 3CX running on a Synology NAS was running fine however suddenly it will not boot anymore. Looking at what is happening on the console I only see

/dev/sda1: clean, 57211/2035824 files, 1167228/8138240 blocks

I then created a new virtual machine using the latest 3CX debian ISO so that I can just restore from the nightly backup and also after the OS has installed it will not reboot. Instead more or less the same message will appear on the console. Has anyone got any idea why it suddenly can't boot anymore?

Looks like the issue is that the current relase doesn't run on a Synology VM. If I take the V18 ISO that I still had it will install flawlessly and start with the webui setup dialog. However since my backup is from V20 I can't restore it this way. How can I find an ISO for e.g V20 Update 5 (20.0 Update 5 Build 384) that seems to be the last running version?

You cant... Synology isnt an supported hypervisor.

You cant't download the previous ISO because of the hypervisor?

Used to run for years on Synology NAS with no issues at all.

There is no previous ISO, it's net install.

There must be a way to install a previous build of V20. I'm able to install V18, but I can't activate it since it says the license key is for V20 and the software responds it's "from a previous version".

Officially it's a netinstall, but I'm not convinced it actually is, given the size of the ISO files and I have not seen a requirement for the host to actually be online.

Try without internet and you will see it doesnt work. Anyway it isnt a good idea to install an old version to solfe this problem. Install the pbx on a supported hyper visor or bar metal and your problems are gone.

you can install old version with below command:

apt install 3cxpbx=20.0.5.384

SSH into your pbx and login as root.

Somehow the vm did not get an IP address initially so SSH did not work, but after a few reboots it eventually worked. Downgrade using the command:

apt install 3cxpbx=20.0.5.384

worked perfectly well and the PBX is back up and running with no need to restore a backup. Now all updates leading up to RC2 worked flawlessly.
