I'm trying to setup 3CX Talk & Meet, but when i click to meet call as "external user" it requests the organizer to be signed it, but the extension source for this 3CX Talk URL doesn't receive no notification.
https://www.3cx.com/user-manual/talk-meet/

Is there anyone using this resource? I tried signing it to this "meeting" but i dont find it - whatever, the notification should work, otherwise how would i know someone tried to call me in the first place?

I was able to arrange a meeting with internal extensions, but 3CX Tallk should allow chat, audio or video call from external users by clicking a extension/queue URL, right?

This is the way it works... You need to start the meeting and than other people can join. Talk is working different than meet. Talk you will get a chat message

Hi bitn2, i appreciate your previous reply, i'm coming back to this, my backlog is huge.

So, you said I as an internal 3CX extension user, should starting the meeting so other people can join.

But this is not the point for 3CX Talk & Meet feature, what you are describing is simply a meeting feature.

What ChatGPT understood by reading the URL reference - same as I.

what do you understand by this feature? https://www.3cx.com/user-manual/talk-meet/

What that page describes is basically a “click-to-call / click-to-meet link for a person or company” inside the 3CX PBX.

Here is the practical meaning of the feature.

1. A personal contact link that lets anyone call you

Each user gets two shareable links:

  • 3CX Talk link → voice call
  • 3CX Meet link → video meeting
Anyone who clicks the link can call you directly from their browser, without installing anything. It works using WebRTC.

Example concept:

https://company.3cx.cloud/rafael

A visitor clicks it → their browser opens → microphone permission → they call your extension.

No phone number required.

2. It’s meant for external people (customers)

Typical use cases:

  • Put the link in email signature
  • Put the link on your website
  • Put the link in social media
  • Send it in chat or WhatsApp
Example email signature:

Rafael da Costa
Network Engineer

Call me: https://company.3cx.cloud/rafael
Meet with me: https://company.3cx.cloud/meet/rafael

When someone clicks:

  • Talk → starts voice call
  • Meet → opens video conference room

3. The call goes directly into the 3CX system

From a telephony perspective:

Visitor Browser (WebRTC)

3CX WebRTC Gateway

Your Extension / Queue / Ring Group

Admins can even configure the link to call:

  • a single extension
  • a call queue
  • a ring group (sales, support, etc.)

4. Meet link = instant video conference room

The Meet link acts like a permanent meeting room.

Example:

https://company.3cx.cloud/meet/rafael

Anyone joining waits until you accept (if enabled).
Then you get a video meeting with screen share, chat, etc.

5. Security / anti-spam behavior

Optional settings include:

  • ask visitor name and email first
  • approve before joining
  • reject unknown callers
This avoids random spam calls.

✅ In simple terms:

It turns your phone extension into something like:

  • Zoom personal meeting link
  • Microsoft Teams meeting link
  • Calendly instant call link
but integrated into the PBX voice system.

Why companies use it

Instead of:

Call us: +1 212 555 1234

they use:

Talk to sales instantly → click here

That removes international calling costs and friction.

If anyone is using this feature in 2026 and could ping it back to me, i'd be really nice. But it seems a feature forgot in the past.

That's the most AI answer I've seen in a while lol

and it doesnt change anything from my answer...

Okay, one more time. Talk opens a website where you can enter your name and email address. Then you can chat or call. Meet also opens a website for the meeting, but you can only log in if you're already online.

The whole idea behind 3CX Talk & Meet is allowing external folks to place call/video call/chat to someone who's already available.

I remember the pretty old videos about this feature. Since we are redesigning our website, we're willing to showcase 3CX features even better.

But when i click on my own extension/3CX Talk & Meet link on anonymous browser - it requests the organizer to join the meeting - and yes i have set that (approval before participants joining in) , i don't want to receive incoming calls inadvertently.

On regular browser, with my 3CX extension logged, the same used for admin console, when i click on my own 3CX Talk & Meet link - it also requests the organizer to join in? Like https://contoso.my3cx.com.br:5001/meet/mycustomname

On my understanding this feature isn't a Zoom/Gotomeeting/Teams that only places meetings when participants are already in the meeting, but when the invitation to join a meeting - started by an external party is made, the associated extension/queue for that Meet & Talk should notifiy the agents/extension for them to joining the party.

Conclusion

I have clicked on my own meeting Talk link, signed in as organizer, then, the "participant" party was finally able to join the meeting.

I thought 3CX extension status would determine an availability or not a given 3CX Talk & Meet call. It's also not similar to 3CX Queues, where an extension can be logged in indefinitely.

"The 3CX Talk & Meet links allow your customers, partners and colleagues to call or start an online meeting with you by simply clicking on a web link! No need to dial a number or pay for a call. The links work from any browser without the need to download apps or extensions (using WebRTC)"

My apologies for the previous copy/paste from ChatGPT answer.

That's correct. You need to use your admin link, not the one for the the customers.
