3CX V20 High Availability failover

Im after some advide, and guidance.
We have a customer which requires high availability of 3cx and understand I require Enterprise license.

I use AWS lightSail to deploy 3cx

3CX Server Active
location: AWS LS London
35 users
backup to SFTP
Public IP 1.1.1.1
3CX FQDN

3CX Server Passive
location: AWS LS Ireland
35 users
backup/restore to SFTP
Public IP 2.2.2.2
3CX FQDN

Can 3cx work in this way?

I have read through the guide https://www.3cx.com/docs/linux-pbx-failover/

Also I see there are 4 scripts needed

• Kill3CXServices.sh
• Shutdown3CXMainMachine.sh
• Stop3CXServices.sh
• StopsAndKill3CXServices.sh

Which need to be uploaded via management console in before and after sections, is this all scripts in both locations?

DNS Scripts

• DNSgoogle.sh

is this required and gcloud CLI when using 3cx FQDN?

what do i need gcloud CLI for?

TBF thats the first time ive ever seen that webpage for those scripts.

I've normally just set this up.

ENT is for faster TTL on the DNS but in my case i've found PRO to be quick at updating too.

The 3cx failover is possible to be used fully cloud based.

Simply follow the guide to install the machines both using the same license and 3cx fqdn. On site you have a 3cx sbc for any IP homes or router phones or just use 3cx apps or webclients.

There is no need for scripts or any dns changes as the 3cx fqdns handle this automatically.

I plan to have 2 x SBC in high availability mode also.

In Step 2-5 on the passive server it mentions to specify the location of your failover script with a link to the 5 scripts.

Do you not need to have any scripts in the before and after? if using 3cx FQDN?

These are not required when using a 3cx fqdn as DNS is changed automatically to the servers public ip which becomes active.
