I just Updated one instance from U6 to U7 and it won't connect to my exchange server now. I get "No compatible authentication mechanisms found" error. 3cx smtp option seems to work with smtp_CONNECT_TIMEOUT =60 Parameter added.

One in remote office melted down ad I'm rebuilding it with 3CX20 U7 and it is doing the same thing. I tried the 3CX SMTP option and I get a different error "5.7.0 License key cannot use 3CX SMTP: Please contact 3CX Customer Service" tried adding smtp_CONNECT_TIMEOUT =60 Parameter to no evail.

What version of Exchange?

Is the license activated on the second one? The dead server is off?

As @SteveITS mentioned, for the second case what licence you are using on this instance is the key question - licence needs to be valid and activated for the 3CX SMTP to work.

Regarding Exchange, if it's a very old version it might be using a deprecated authentication method. If everything is on-prem together, you might be able in Exchange to set up the 3CX IP to be allowed to relay emails without authentication, by-passing any auth versioning issues. This will need to be determined by your own policies and needs.

As suggested by Kyriacos, create a receive connector on your exchange server with anonymous login and restrict it to the IP of your 3CX.
