Hello there! I have the weirdest issue. I have a 3CX system that says 97.84.0.35 is the current desired firmware for the T57. Right next to it, I have some T54's and they are properly updating to the latest (currently 96.86.0.63). If I manually go through the process to get the firmware upgraded on the T57 to 96.86.0.18, it says that's old (which it is) but it puts back on the old version 97.84.0.35, it does not take it to 96.86.0.63.

I'm on Debian ISO and updated to the latest version of 3CX 18.0 U2. I did just recently upgrade form 16 to 18 FYI.

Any thoughts? I have other systems that take the T57 right to 96.86.0.63 perfectly. So weird.

Screenshot of T57 with OLD firmware showing not in red. The one in red the system wants to downgrade it.

I think @AbilityIT is spot on.

The way our software determines of the offered firmware is newer than the one on the phone is by comparing all 4 numbers of a firmware version.

Your T57Ws right now have 97.84.0.35, which is larger than 96. Now the fact that you manually install 96.86.0.18 and then the phone automatically goes back to 97.84.0.35 tells me that either you are using custom template and the phone is requesting a specific firmware version from somewhere else, or, someone has manually replaced the existing firmware files causing this.

Try this:
  1. Take a Full Backup as a precautionary measure
  2. Go to for following folders and delete all files and subfolders in them (NOT the root folders themselves though!):
    Windows:
    C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Interface\provisioning\<random folder name>\firmware\C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Interface\provisioning\<random folder name>\firmware_new\

    Linux:
    /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Http/Interface/provisioning/me1um57upw1e/firmware/
    /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Http/Interface/provisioning/me1um57upw1e/firmware_new/
  3. Restart all 3CX Services.
  4. Log back into the 3CX Management Console and go to Dashboard --> Updates and download all firmwares.
After doing this, in the updates you should see 96.86.0.63 available. You will probably have to manually install 96.86.0.18 first, but after doing this, in the "Phones" node you should get the option to go to 96.86.0.63.

Hello, that appears to have done the trick. Thank you!

Yep, it's a little confusing. The 96. is for sure the latest and 97 is a bit older now.
Glad you got it resolved!

I'll explain. In that past, each T5x model had it's own independent firmware file, and for the T57@ it was 97.xx.xx.xx.
At some point though, Yealink decided to unify the firmware file for all T5x models and for some reason chose the 96.xx.xx.xx version.

In the past we were lucky because this coincided with a major 3CX update, through which most users don't transfer the Firmware files on the disk (effectively what you did manually now), so the problem "solved itself".

As the issue has been resolved, I'll flag this one as 'Solved'.
