I discovered today on 2 installations that the host of a webmeeting is no longer recognised as the organiser whather using the invite email or web console. It turns out they are no longer recognized as the meeting organiser.
In order for anyone to join, we have to deselect 'Host must log on first'
Any ideas how the meeting organiser can connect as recognised?

Hello, are you using FQDNs or IPs to access the meeting?
Is your browser accepting cookies?

Whenever you join as organizer, for security reason, the organizer URL is redirected to to anonymous participants URL. This redirect is handled with a technical cookie. If your browser is not accepting cookies for some reason, you're going to experience problems.

Please do following tests:

1) Create a new meeting
2) Copy the organizer URL. Ensure that the key is 24 characters long (key is the URL part after meet/)
3) Paste the organizer URL into the browser
4) Verify that the URL is redirected to anonymous participants URL (key is 40 characters long)
5) Join the meeting and verify that you have organizer privileges

Now copy the anonymous participants URL (key is 40 characters long), from email or browser URL window

1) Open an incognito window OR a different browser (if you used Chrome, open Edge or Firefox) OR use a different PC
2) Paste the anonymous participants URL
3) Verify that you join the meeting as a participant and that "Host must log on first" is enforced correctly

By default on video/webinar meetings the option "meeting starts once organizer joins" is checked.

As alluded to above the organizer has their own special link to join the meeting.

What we find happens is:
  • organizer creates meeting
  • organizer creates calendar entry/invite (which only has the public link)
  • organizer sees calendar reminder pop up
  • organizer clicks the link in their calendar reminder, as directed
  • thus the "organizer" never joins
The organizer needs to use their own link in the desktop app/web client/etc.

Solution is to uncheck "meeting starts once organizer joins" which may not be desirable. Or train the users.

It would be nice if 3CX's default meeting text had a line, "if you're the organizer use your special link" or similar.
