Hi,

I can see when scheduling a conference and using 3CX (direct eMail) the email includes a .ics attachment (handled in Gmail, Outlook, etc), but I am using Zoho Mail and it doesn't seem to pick up the .ics attachment - not a huge issues on it's own, well, shouldn't be.

But... the 3CX email template for conference and webinar invites doesn't have a way to include the date and time of the scheduled meeting. As a user of an email service that doesn't handle a .ics attachment properly (I'm sure I'm not the only one), it's a pain getting a conference invite from a 3CX as I'm clueless as to the date and time of it.

I signed up to a 3CX webinar earlier today, received the webinar invite, and had to look back at the website for the date and time so I could add it to my calendar.

As a work around for when I send out a conference/webinar invite, I add the date and time to the notes. However, something automated would be great (also for when other 3CX users send me invites!).

Any one else have this issue, and is this something 3CX plan to add?

(I've also logged a ticket with Zoho Mail as there may be something in my settings that I need to tweak to handle .ics attachments. Regardless of my case, adding date and time to the 3CX email should be available)

Thanks,

Ed

Done a bit of reading and it seems like a Zoho problem in the way they handle or dont handle ICS files. Someone suggested doing it from the mobile app?

There is a way to import ICS to zoho calendar.

Do you only use web mail? Id have thought Outlook would pick this up.

Thanks for your reply kieferschild.

I tried the mobile app (Android) and it doesn't work either unfortunately. I have raised a case with Zoho mail support and hasn't got far as of yet...

But the main thing lacking is no date/the information in the body of the email itself. It'll be great if 3CX can fix that (so .ICS file or not, you can still determine the WebMeeting time so you can manually add it to your calendar).

So I had a play and there is an option to "set reminder"

Think this is as best you'll get.

Thanks for the tip - good shout.

I hope 3CX adds the date/time in the emails too (in addition to the .ICS).

For anyone using Zoho Mail and 3CX, this has been fixed (Zoho Mail support implemented the fix on their end, I tested using 3CX).

Though, for 3CX, some text below "Joining info: " which includes the date and time in text will also be useful (so the recipient is not just relying on an attached .ics file).
