Good Morning Colleagues
I hope you are doing good and safe.

I need to connect 3CX with Patton SmartLink 4020 (This device has 2 ports FXS with WAN & LAN Ethernet interfaces) . Let me share with you the below:

• I have added 2 extensions to 3CX which related to SmartLink 4020 FXS 1 (extension 501) and FXS 2 (extension 502)
• I configured the above extensions to SmartLink 4020 also.
• 3CX has softphone registered to it (extension 402).
• From phone connected to SmartLink 4020 FXS 1 (extension 501) , I can call successfully phone connected to SmartLink 4020 FXS 2 (extension 502) in addition to softphone registered to 3CX (extension 402)
• From phone connected to SmartLink 4020 FXS 2 (extension 502) , I can call successfully phone connected to SmartLink 4020 FXS 1 (extension 501) in addition to softphone registered to 3CX (extension 402)
• From softphone registered to 3CX (extension 402) , I am not able to neither call phone connected to SmartLink 4020 FXS 1 (extension 501) nor phone connected to SmartLink 4020 FXS 2 (extension 502) but received error message displayed on softphone "Unsupported Media"

May i know what is the issue ?

Best Regards

Since the device in question is an unsupported device, we can't guarantee that it work properly with 3CX or that it will work at all for that matter. If you haven't yet, do consider taking a look at our list of supported gateways here: https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/
These have been tested with 3CX and normal functionality has been confirmed.

The only thing I can recommend for your case is maybe try to enable "PBX delivers audio" on the extensions in question and if that doesn't work check the codecs for all extensions involved in the call. Make sure they match up.

Hi Chris
I have enabled "PBX delivers audio" and check codec compatibility but the issue still exist.

There is error SIP message which is "Status: 488 Not Acceptable Here"

So kindly advice.

Best Regards

As mentioned previously it's not a supported device so if you have checked the basics, all I can suggest from there on is switch to a supported device for a trouble-free experience(link to a list in my previous reply).

Alternatively you could search through our forums to check if anyone else had similar issues with the specific device.

Good Morning Colleagues
Issue has been solved by disallowing video call from 3CX softphone.

Best Regards
