3CXPhone under VMWare Workstation = sound issue ;)

Hello!

VMWare Workstation 7.1.2. Host OS is Win7 x64, guest OS is Win7 x86.

There are no problems at all when I try to play anything by Windows Media Player inside guest OS, including files from C:\Program Files\3CX Assistant\Sounds.

But, at the same time, 3CXPhone produces very very distorted sound on incoming call (Ringing.wav) and the conversation itself.


Any ideas?

Thank you very much, leaving only one processor for the virtual machine running guest OS solved the issue.

Please integrate my case data into mentioned blog article: sound issues seem to occur not only when guest OS is XP or Server 2003, but even with Win7. Also, including strings like "3CXPhone" and "VMWare Workstation" into the article should help finding it using search engines like google
