Dear 3CX Support,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to report a critical issue that occurred after upgrading my local 3CX installation to version 20. I have been running 3CX on my private server for a long time without issues. However, after the upgrade, I can no longer access my local host or manage the system as I previously could.

Please note:
- I have **two separate 3CX instances**: one on the 3CX cloud and another **self-hosted on my own server**.
- My self-hosted system is licensed and has a **valid subscription active until the end of 2025**.

Unfortunately, despite the service being fully licensed and active, I am no longer able to utilize the local hosting setup, which was critical for my operations.

I kindly request your assistance in:
1. Understanding the changes that affect local hosting in version 20.
2. Providing clear steps or documentation to install and run 3CX v20 on my **own private server**, as was possible in previous versions.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to proceed so I can continue to benefit from my subscription and maintain local control of my PBX environment.

Thank you for your time and support.

Best regards,
khalid alzaabi

Points 1 and 2 have been comprehensively covered.
I suggest you speak to your 3cx support company who can assist you further.
But...
Have you got fqdn setup to resolve external and locally?
Did you have a valid "unique " email for the admin account?
Maybe include more info. What can you access and what can't you?
Login screen?.

Hi,

Have you tried accessing the local V20 using it's proper URL and not just http(s)://localhost:xxxx ?

Best,
K.

Hi [Gingerr6] and [KyriakosK_], thanks again for your help.

After completing the installation of version 20, the setup wizard opens and prompts me to restore the backup from my previous version (which was v18).
I proceed with the restore, and it completes successfully.

However, after that, I am unable to access the management console. The system only shows me an account number without any permissions or access rights — I can't log in or configure anything.

Any idea what could be causing this issue after restoring a v18 backup to v20?

Appreciate your support!

Best regards

Hi,

Could you send a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Also, before taking the v18 backup did you create a system owner as is required by V20, and are now logging in with that extension number? There is no user "admin" in V20.
