Hello,

I work for an educational institution for blind and visually impaired people. The Windows app is not usable for screen reader users in several ways. We have developed a screen reader script that allows users to overcome a few hurdles. However, it does not lead to optimal results. One problem, for example, is that the icons in the call list, which indicate whether it is an incoming, outgoing or incoming call, are... call, have no alternative text (this is better solved in the iOS app). Another hurdle that we have solved via the script is that the profile menu cannot be opened using the keyboard. In addition, the icon buttons are not provided with alternative text. These problems could all be easily solved using the accessibility properties of the GUI technology.
Thank you for your feedback on whether and when you improve the accessibility of the Windows client.

Kind Regards,

We're running into this exact same issue. Our organization provides assistance for people with visual impairments and we have some blind staff. They use JAWS or Narrator on Windows, but the Windows Store phone app is not accessible. None of the buttons are labeled properly, so if someone needs to conference in someone else on a call, it's impossible. Tabbing through the buttons just says "Button, Button, Button.." We can work around some of it by assigning keyboard shortcuts (from the settings menu that also isn't labeled), but there's no Conference shortcut button.

@ThomB_3CX, maybe you can take this one? Adding those labels to buttons should be easy....
