Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried registering a duplicate trunk or additional trunk for outbound use only. The reason I am asking is because I am wanting our e911 service with our trunk provider (Flowroute) to use a matching Caller ID for 911 reverse lookup. our current trunk settings have a caller id that doesn't match for our normal outbound calls but I was planning to have our outbound rules use this specific trunk 911 so I can have to caller id match.
The reason for this setup style is our current caller id number is registered with an original ISP and forwarded to our Flowroute number it has yet to be transferred.
One of the issues I am wondering will happen is if it allows me to create a duplicate trunk I don't want the system to ring twice or possibly lose inbound calls from this new trunk.
My only other option was deleting caller id on our current trunk and having the caller id set at individuals extension level. It would just reduce functionality for changing between caller id's from our current prefix to change outbound caller id.
