In my opinion the voicemail prompts aren't as user friendly as some other voicemail systems I've used in the past (Nortel, Toshiba, and Mitel). I was disappointed that the voicemail system doesn't have an "initialization process" that would prompt a new user to record their self ID prompt and a personal greeting; however, after I found the "Greetings" option in the web client, I found an easy method for the users to record a personal greeting for them to use either by default or for their status. There are a few options that I would like to see added to the web client though. If we could have the option of using the web client to record the self ID that would be fantastic. I tried to simply name my greeting self_id_prompt but it gave me an error that it had to be Alphanumeric. Simply removing that limitation would work but that's then the user needs to carefully input that name so the system recognizes it. My preference would be to have the "Record Greeting" button which prompts for a filename, also include the option to record the self_ID_prompt.wav and the savevmgreeting.wav without the user needing to provide a recording name. Changing the PIN would also be a nice feature too.
Does anyone know of any work arounds or should I simply post a suggestion in the "Ideas" forum?
