Alert SMS Message on Android

Hi,

I have a customer using 3CX on Android SMS messaging. Everything works as it should, except when an SMS message comes in. He can't get his Android to play a sound to alert him to the new SMS message. He has a more recent android phone, and 3CX is V18 update 5 using Voxtelesys SIP Service.

Hey Rob,
We did test this internally with an Iphone and Andriod (samsung S22) and both had the notification pop up like a normal SMS. I will have someone from my team share their app settings on their device.

Do you know the exact model? Perhaps we have the same and can test internally. Other users may also have the same device and share their experiences.

Hi Rob,

We tested with multiple Samsung devices and they all play the notification sound when a new SMS is received. The only scenario a sound is not played is when the 3CX chat is open in the forefront.
Make sure that the 3CX app is not in silent mode and that the Android settings are also not silent. Androids have different sliders for notifications and ringtones or media.
