Hello
When someone with windows 3cx client calls someone with webclient on latest chrome browser the voice of the person using the webclient sounds very strange.
The Person using the webclient can hear the other person just fine.

There is no problem when using webclient on firefox browser.
Do you also have that problem?

I am using 16.0.8.9 enterprise.

Thanks

Hi @tester777,

  1. What OS is this chrome running on?
  2. What version of chrome is installed?
  3. Is it only that extension that sounds different or is it every extension using the web client when called from the windows client?

1. W10 20H2, but it is also on latest mac os, so os independent
2. Version 89.0.4389.128
3. every, i also created new extensions from scratch

Hi @tester777,

Is the PBX hosted or on premise?

Can you check your codecs are the same on both sides to avoid transcoding?

hosted.

Yes, codecs are identical.

Hi @tester777,

This is most likely due to transcoding happening between the Windows Client and Web Clients. Let's ensure we've made sure all of the codecs are in the correct order in each place applicable. If bandwidth isn't an issue then I'd suggest going using G711 codecs.

Open the Management Console >> Extensions >> <select your extension> >> Phone provisioning >> Select 3CX App from Your Phones >> Scroll to the bottom and ensure that G711-[whatever your provider uses].

Do this for all extensions.

Open the Windows Client >> Settings (two cogs, bottom right) >> Configure accounts >> Double click your Account >> Click Advanced Settings (bottom left) >> Select the same codecs and reorder them as it shows in the Management console under Extensions.

Finally check under Settings >> General and ensure the codecs are the same as the above.

Re-register the 3CX Windows App. Test the call again.

Hi Thanks
The quality was normal once I set the 711-a codec for the extensions and the windows client.

However, as soon as opus is set as codec in windows client audio is distorted.

Hi @tester777,

Do you have PBX delivers audio and call recordings enabled on the extensions?

Not sure if I understand the question, but yes I have enabled the option to record calls on the extension.

Oh and under all extensions on option I have NOT enabled "PBX Delivers Audio".

Hi @Tester,

There will be improvements with regards to transcoding in v18. For now you may want to stick with G711 and change it to OPUS when v18 arrives.
