Hi. I'm still using PSTN. Is it possible for a user to pick specific trunk to call out? Can he dial a prefix before actual number to allow him to use a specific trunk? This used to be possible with our old Panasonic PBX.

Thanks

Let me add some more explanation to what I indend to achieve. I'd like to be able to do the following:

1. ON normal situations, just dial NXXXXXXX and accomplish the outside call.
2. On special occassions, dial XX,XXXXXXX and the first 2 XX to pick a specific outbound trunk.

Hope someone can share how this can be done.

you can use custom context.

Hello. I figured out how to do it. I used prefix, then the number to be called. e.g. XX, NXXXXXX, and assigned a specific trunk to this outbound route. Works beautifully.

Can you share this with me? I never know about this method.

So apart from creating an OUTBOUND Route that when NXXXXXX is dialed, it will use all the avialable lines (In order that I set the trunk lines), I specifically set up another new OUTBOUND Route rule, wherein the sequence to recognize is XX,NXXXXXX, where the first XX prefix is how I identify the trunk lines. I specifically assigned just 1 unique trunk on this dial plan. EG, the trunk line number I'd like to test ends in 13, so instead of directly dialing NXXXXXX, I dial 13,NXXXXXX. That way, I can pick up that specific trunk.

I use this mostly because there are times I'd like to test whether the number is working or dead. Instead of taking a look at the interface, I'd just use the way above to dial out, to test whether the line works or not.
