Allowing an extension to be reachable only via DID

I have a user who wants the extension accessible via only the assigned DID, not the extension number.

I was looking for clarity on what these two options do, but the help page does not cover the Restrictions section.


Does disable extension disable the entire extension or extension number? Does Disable External Calls apply to calls coming via DID, too?

What is the best to achieve the result I am looking for? I'm using v20.

Hi @kylem

The disable extension disables the extension altogether so it cannot be used.

The disable external calls, if enabled, will not allow that extension to make outbound calls.

@kylem It may not be exactly what you want but if you put this extension in another group the rest can be made to not see it:
