Solved Amazon AWS SSH to instance.

Hi there,

I have installed the 3CX Amazon Compute instance and it's working well so far. I have a few phones connected and can call just fine. I would like to use SSH to connect to the instance. To this end I created a key/pair and I manage to establish a connection to the instance, but I get a "Permission Denied (publickey) error. This is using "root" as the logon username.

Similarly, if I try to use the Amazon Console itself I also get an error.

It seems to me, that "root" is not the correct logon name perhaps?

Given that this is an AWS instance, there was no installation to do, just launch it really. And what that means is you're never prompted for a user name or password as you would be on an ISO install. I am wondering what is the correct user name to specify for SSH in these circumstances? "root" does not seem to cut it.

I followed this link to ssh to my AWS instance:

The user is not "root", but "ec2-user"
