I started to notice when I dial an extension the audio is choppy and the signal drops to 60% and doesn't even out. On wifi or cell signal same issues. iPhone seem to work better no choppy audio signal jumps to 100%.

Up to date 3CX
Cloud hosted: Debían server
Codecs used G11U, G11A, GSM

At pixel 4 after updating to android 11, problems with outgoing sound (strong voice distortion). If connected to a local network via wifi where the telephony server is, the sound is normal.

Same problem here on a Pixel 2 XL with Android 11 installed.

I was able to fix the problem. I had to switch the codecs to GSM-FR as the first priority then PCMU then G729 remove the rest only use what your SIP provider handles. 3CX Is not great encoding so just keep it simple.

Nevermind, issue came back.

The problem remains!!!

Hi,

We are currently investigating this issue with Pixel devices and we will update you once we have verified its cause.

To aid us in our investigation, when you experience this audio distortion issue please try this procedure:
a. Put the app in the background, e.g. tap to go to the main Android home screen.
b. Switch back to the app to wake it up.
c. Test the audio and tell us if it shows improvement or not.

Also, please confirm the version for 3CX app, Android OS, PBX and host OS.

Thanks. Doing the above did fix the audio issue. 16.4.4, 11, 16.0.655 & Windows 10 1909.

16.5.0.46, 11, 16.0.06.655 W10 2004
The problem remains!!!
this problem only occurs when calling from a mobile network or wifi (not local).

Had the same issue. Resolved it but clearing the cache and storage of the app then sent myself a new email with the configuration file. It also fixed a coworker's phone. Both Pixel 3 (XL).

We are also checking on this issue wrt to recently published info that older Pixel devices on Android 11 experience degraded connectivity.

@vasypnew can you perform a ping test on your device(s) to assess the network performance as observed from the device. An easy way to do this is with the PingTools app found through the Play app store. Install, run, select Ping from the left-side menu and enter an address to ping. You can perform this test on your wireless and mobile network and repeat on another device to compare.

@Maxime.H good to know.

We will be issuing soon an updated beta for the Android app that has various fixes including one for the reported issue on Android 11. When we announce this beta release, make sure you join the 3CX Beta Program to test the new app with your setup. Once we verify this beta app we will proceed to a public release.

Problem remains even though running on a beta, we have also noticed the issue is across Samsung phones and Pixel phones, essentially Andriod devices, very poor audio must fix ASAP.

We have published a new beta version that includes a fix for the Android 11 audio issue that you can try out. Let us know if you have any feedback on the new version regarding this issue.
