Good day,

changing the vibrate toggle in the 3CX app doesn't seem to have any real impact. The import setting is the "Vibrate" option for "Incoming calls" in the notification settings of Android 11.

Sadly, this flag doesn't change no matter what I set vibrate too. It is always turned off.

Now if I manually enable it, it works for 1 incoming call and afterward is reset to off again.

Any solution or is this a bug? If it is a bug when will it be fixed?

As I nearly always have my phone in vibrate only mode, this is essential.

Using a Google Pixel 4a with the latest app and phone and play security updates installed.

Could you please try the following and let me know how it goes?

1. In the 3CX Android App, go to Menu >> Settings >> Advanced and make sure "Vibrate" is enabled.

2. Keep the 3CX Android in the foreground and make at least two calls, did vibrate work for some, all or none of them?

3. Put the app in the background and again make at least two calls, did vibrate work for some, all or none of them?

4. Go to Menu >> Settings >> Advanced and turn off "Vibrate". Close the App, re-launch it and turn "Vibrate" back on.

5. Put the app in the background and again make at least two calls, did vibrate work for some, all or none of them?

6. Bring the 3CX Android in the foreground and make at least two calls, did vibrate work for some, all or none of them?

EDIT: Please also confirm exact 3CX PBX and 3CX Android App versions.

@ChrisC_3CX

Sorry for the delay.

Exact versions:
App: 16.7.6.105
PBX: 16.0.9

App setting "Vibrate" was enabled for all tests below.

App in foreground:
Vibrate always works, no matter how many calls.

App in background:
Vibrate never works, no matter how many calls.

App closed (removed from open app list):
Vibrate never works, no matter how many calls.

App in background and manually enabled vibrate in Android Settings->Apps & Notifications->3CX->Notifications->Incoming Calls->Vibrate:
Vibrate never works, no matter how many calls.

App closed (removed from open app list) and manually enabled vibrate in Android Settings->Apps & Notifications->3CX->Notifications->Incoming Calls->Vibrate:
Vibrate works one time, but not afterwards.
By checking Android Settings->Apps & Notifications->3CX->Notifications->Incoming Calls->Vibrate,it seems the vibrate setting is set to disabled again by the app.
I think the whole incoming call notification channel is removed and replaced actually which should not be the case, it should be kept and only restored, if it is missing. Also the incoming call channel should take vibrate into account. This is also probably why it never works, if the app is in the background because 3CX probably restores those settings before the notificatin is triggered.

Summary:
I think the issue is that the app does not correctly setup the Incoming call notification channel and fiurthermore, always replaces that channel once it is setup which is not that big an issue, if it is correctly setup but as the reason for these notification channels is for the user to be able to adjust them, it should not be automatically replaced but kept and only updated/replace if necessary by the app (e.g. vibrate option changed).

Thank you for the update on this.

Please bear in mind that this issue has actually been confirmed and we are aware of it. It is being looked into as we speak and will let you know once we have any updates on the matter.

Hi @ghostzero,

A new 3CX Android BETA (version 16.7.8.121) has just been released!

It should resolve the vibration issue so I do recommend giving it a try at least on some devices.
