Android App vibration

Hi,

I have noticed that, when the ringer on the phone is turned on, both the ringer and vibrate features on the 3CX app work. However, if I put the phone into silent mode, not only the ringer for the 3CX app turns off, but also the vibration does not work. This is annoying as I need to keep my phone on silent during certain times, but still need the vibration to alert me to any incoming call or message. Any way this can be fixed?

Hello Adrian,

We've just tested and the Silent function does not stop the vibration feature from working.

• Are you running the latest version of the 3CX App?
• What kind of Android phone are you using?
• Does this happen on only your extension or other are other extensions finding the same thing?

Hi Vasilis,

- version 16.6.2.89
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
- I only tested on this one phone so far. Just to clarify, this is not pressing the "Silent" button on the 3CX app, but using the "Switch to Silent Mode" functionality on the phone

Hi Adrian,

We've checked in Android 10. You should have the same details we have.

If you select and hold the 3CX App:

• Choose App Info
• Select Notifications
• Scroll down to 'Silent'
• Select importance as 'Default'
• Check if vibration is selected, if not, enable.

Hi Vasilis,

that is how my settings are. However, when the phone is on Silent Mode, the vibration for 3CX does not work. Once the caller hangs up, the vibration works for the "Missed Call" notification popup.

This is not the case for the other messaging apps - like the phone's own caller and SMS, and Whatsapp. With these, vibrate works well during Silent Mode

Hi Adrian,

We've followed up on this and it seems that as the modes of different mobile manufacturers are so diverse, we've focused on Normal and Vibrate mode, rather than Silent. Vibration will be available in both modes unless disabled.

There isn't a vibrate mode. Its Regular, Silent, or DND

I understand. In that case it currently won't be possible on that specific model of mobile. We have tested this Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and it cannot use the functionality, however the Oneplus 8 can, as it has an extra Vibrate mode.
