I have a future customer that is a golf club, every morning the green keepers record a message stating the golf club is open etc etc. The number they ring is a virtual extension, they record the message then hang up. When people ring this golf club, in the AA if you press digit 6 for course information, it rings this virtual extension number, then plays the message the green keepers have recorded. The virtual extension numbers voicemail is set for information only, so the caller cannot leave a message.

My question is, can 3CX do the same as above and how would i action this please?

Would it be possible to turn off the option for the caller to leave a message then?

dont think so. You'd have to educate your user on amending the voice from the management console so they can use IVR's instead.

Just use an IVR. Why does it need to be a user extension. Save the prompt with the IVR. Give it no options. Set the timeout to zero, and have it hang up when done.

..or, if they still want to use an extension...when recording the outgoing message, perhaps make it clear that it is an information message by saying, "thank you for calling ABC Golf Club, goodbye" at the end, then continuing to record silence for 30 seconds, or longer.
