the app is no longer on the google store for all voip providers, you could try the one that is built into the phone, I am not sure how well it works.

on an android phone click the phone icon, 3 dots then settings. then scroll down to Use Internet calling. you can setup a sip server there.

I haven't tried this setup, but I do know its there.

I found a version that will work with ten. Now my only issue is the phone will not register across the wifi.. any ideas?

heres the error I am getting in 3cx

SIP request (REGISTER) from 192.168.1.112 was rejected. Reason: Block WAN requests is ON.
Message:
REGISTER sip:192.168.1.66:5060;transport=TCP SIP/2.0

ok I figured this out... I had to uncheck disallow use of extension outside of lan.. even though its the inside of the lan...

ok now I seem to be getting a few issues.

We can hear everything when you talk from cell phone to cell phone locally through android. However if someone calls in from a outside line we can't hear anything on the 3cx android same with the person on the outside line.


ok I figured this out in was in advanced then checked tcp transport.

Now my only other issue is there is a big delay.. Any suggestions?

It depends on what you mean by BIG delay. VoIP does have a delay as a result of the encoding/decoding process. This can be made even more noticeable by your choice of Codecs at each end, especially if transcoding is required by the PBX (you didn't allow use of the same codec at each end), or some components on the network. Try a call where you, and the called party, cannot hear each other except over the phone.

For the codecs I have GSM g.711 alaw and ulaw marked. The only ones I do not have marked is speex

OK, but how are you determining the delay? Are both parties in the same room? There will be a noticeable delay if you are able to hear the other party "live" and over the phone. You can minimise it somewhat if latency is being caused by something (hardware?) on your network, but, you will not eliminate it completely. Most VoIP users are not even aware of the delay because they are not able to compare the live voice with what's coming out of the earpiece.
